Its blazing hot outside, the air conditioner is broken. It hot to the point the house is hot. why do you do when you don’t have the money to fork out for a new air conditioner. Don’t fall victim to the heat as there are many natural ways to cool down your house without spending the extra money you don’t have.
Close your blinds
One thing I found that works bit is keeping your blinds closed. Your house will begin to heat up as soon as the sun comes up. The sunlight that comes through your windows will warm your home up. So close those blinds and fight back against the heat with this simple trick.
Seal doors and windows
Make sure your windows and doors are correctly sealed. Similar to winter hot air will leak in as fresh air leaks out. With most people, this slips their minds as they think this issue only pertains to winter which is not valid. Weather strips are the easiest and most straightforward way to do this. They can be cut into the size you need and are easily installed.
If you have a BBQ use it. even if you got a slow cooker, you could put on the deck table. Any heat added will add tot he issue. Not only are you limiting the heat output in your house but its also enjoyable.
Similar to Sealing your windows and doors. Proper insulation will help limit the amount of heat and cold that is contained within the house.
There are many types of insulation, including ceiling, wall, underfloor and multi-use.
Fan Ice Bucket Hack
No air conditioner can give off a faux sea breeze, but with this simple trick, you can. Fill a bowl or container with ice (or something similar like an icepack and position it at an angle in front of a big fan so the air whips off the ice in an extra-chilled, extra-misty state.
Adust Ceiling fans
You may not recognize that your ceiling fan needs to be adjusted seasonally. Set to run counter-clockwise in the summer at a higher speed, the fan’s airflow will produce a wind-chill breeze effect that will make you and your company feel cooler.
